The hoop base is hand sculpted from recycled cardboard. Thin strips of map in various colors such as blue, pink, yellow, peach and cream are attached to the base. Each color represents a different country or water body.
The hoops hang from naturally oxidised sterling silver ear wires. The earrings are super light weight and very comfortable to wear.
The dangles are coated with a sealant to make them sturdy and water-resistant, allowing the wearer to enjoy the earrings without worry. The sealant also helps preserve the natural color and texture of the paper.
Since the earrings are made from upcycled materials and handcrafted individually, each pair will have its own unique characteristics. While the specific map locations may vary, the overall color palette will remain consistent.
