Inspired by the etched Carnelian jewelry of the Indus Valley civilization, their vibrant colours and distinctive patterns – this collection is an attempt at replicating the past in paper.
This statement necklace is composed of paper beads made by meticulously rolling paper into tube beads in deep red and beige and cone beads in antique gold.
The paper beads are coated with a sealant to make them sturdy and water resistant, while preserving the natural color and texture of paper.
The beads are strung through a black waxed cotton cord with a little wooden bead for length adjustment.
The necklace is highly versatile – you can wear it as a choker or a long chain. The length of the necklace can be adjusted between 15 and 30 inches (38 and 76 cm).
The paper beads are protected using a sealant which allows the jewelry to be sweat and splash proof. However, they should not be immersed in water. Read detailed care instructions here.
