Handcrafted from an old world map, this upcycled necklace is an exciting collage of places from around the world. A beautiful combination of creativity, sustainability, and wanderlust in a wearable piece of art.
The hoop pendant base is hand sculpted from recycled cardboard. Thin strips of map in various colors such as blue, pink, yellow, peach and cream are attached to the base. Each color represents a different country or water body.
The pendant is strung through a black waxed cotton cord. The necklace length can be adjusted with the little glass bead.
The pendant is coated with a sealant to make them sturdy and water-resistant, allowing the wearer to enjoy the necklace without worry. The sealant also helps preserve the natural color and texture of the paper.
Since the pendant is made from upcycled materials and handcrafted individually, each piece will have its own unique characteristics. While the specific map locations may vary, the overall color palette will remain consistent.
The paper beads are protected using a sealant which allows the jewelry to be sweat and splash proof. However, they should not be immersed in water. Read detailed care instructions here.
